Zagorje Strudel 600g

Zagorje Strudel, prepared from the finest pastry dough and filled with a delicious fresh cheese filling, are among Croatia's best loved delicacies. They are a favourite meal among gourmands and those who love original, traditional dishes, and they can be prepared boiled or baked, sweet or savoury, depending on your desires and preferences.

Štrukli do not require defrosting prior to preparation. If you wish to boil the Štrukli, place them in moderately salted, boiling water and cook about 15 minutes over low heat to ensure they remain intact. Drain and, if desired, sprinkle with fried bread crumbs before serving.

If you prefer to bake the Štrukli, layer them in a greased baking pan, pour a mixture of cooking or sour cream and beaten egg over the Štrukli and bake in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 30 minutes.

For sweet pastries, season additionally with powdered sugar and prunes, while savoury pastries can be seasoned with coarse sea salt.
